This award shall be given to a doctoral student in Spanish-Portuguese who has published a research article on one of the areas outlined in the criteria below, in a refereed journal. The amount of the award is $500. The award is renewable, at the discretion of the selection committee.
Award criteria: The recipient must be involved in innovative and unusual research on Latin America, including Brazilian Studies. Preference shall be given to students working in the areas of gender studies, queer studies, masculinity studies, disability studies and non-Jewish, nonindigenous ethnic groups in Latin America. The donor recognizes that funds are available elsewhere at ASU for these areas.
