The Ava and Raymond Tartar Literature Scholarship is an award for junior and senior students who excel in literature courses and who have demonstrated financial need.
Minimum criteria: Students must be enrolled at Arizona State University full-time, in their third or fourth year with a declared major in Chinese, French, German, International Letters and Cultures (Classics and non-Classics), Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish or Arabic Studies. Junior students must have completed six hours of literature courses and senior students must have completed nine hours. Students must be able to demonstrate their financial need.
To apply: Complete the application form in its entirety, submit a personal statement explaining the basis of your interest in literature, a copy of your financial aid award summary for the 2021–2022 academic year, a copy of your unofficial transcript and a faculty recommendation letter.
