Boggess Family Foundation Scholarship in Mathematical and Statistical Sciences

Applicants for the Boggess Family Foundation Scholarship in Mathematical and Statistical Sciences must:

  • be enrolled in a degree program in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
  • be at least sophomore status
  • be a full-time student (12 credit hours), unless mitigating circumstances
  • have a cumulative GPA greater than 3.25
  • Donors have preference for students with financial need, as documented by ASU Financial Aid and Scholarship Services

The Compassion and Empowerment Scholarship

Check box if you want to apply for this scholarship:

Applicants for the Compassion and Empowerment Scholarship must:

  • be a student with a major in one of the degree programs offered by the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
  • be a junior or senior or graduate student at the start of the 2025 fall semester
  • be a half-time student (at least 6 hours), however donor has preference for full-time student (at least 12 hours)
  • have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater, but donor has preference for cumulative GPA greater than 3.0
  • Demonstrated finanacial need (completed FAFSA) is NOT required
  • Donor prefers student submits statement that shares their story of overcoming life challenges and adversity and helping others in similar challenging situations.

Ioana Elise Hociota !!! Memorial Mathematics Scholarship

Check box if you want to apply for this scholarship:

Applicants for the Ioana Elise Hociota !!! Memorial Mathematics Scholarship must:

  • be enrolled in the BA or BS Mathematics degree programs in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
  • be a half-time student (6 credit hours), with a preference for a recipient who is a full-time (12 credit hours) student
  • have a cumulative GPA greater than 2.0, with a preference for a recipient whose cumulative GPA is greater than 3.0
  • have an immigrant or international background and have come to the U.S. to pursue their passion (add to personal statement)
  • be a naturalized U.S. citizen, pursuing U.S. citizenship, or be an international student

Andre Levard Mackey Scholarship

Applicants for the André Levard Mackey Scholarship must:

    •    have an interest in computers and an appreciation of their role in contemporary mathematics
    •    be a declared mathematics major in the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
    •    be at the junior or senior academic level at the start of the 2025 fall semester
    •    have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0


Joaquin Bustoz Memorial Scholarship

Applicants for the Joaquin Bustoz Memorial Scholarship must:

  • be a full-time (at least 12 credit hours) undergraduate student, majoring in mathematics
  • have successfully completed the summer program (list years in your personal statement)
  • be a resident of Arizona
  • have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75

John Olson Scholarship

  • be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences
  • be at the junior or senior academic level at the start of the 2025 fall semester

  • be a U.S. citizen


Jack H. Hawes Memorial Mathematics Research Scholarship

This scholarship encourages students to pursue faculty directed mathematics research. Applicants for the Jack H. Hawes Memorial Mathematics Research Scholarship must:

  • be a full-time (at least 12 credit hours) undergraduate student majoring in mathematics
  • be participating in a research project under the direction of a tenure-track faculty member of the school (list name on application)
  • be a resident of Arizona with documented financial need
  • upload research document to application

Scholarships for students in Actuarial Science Program

Check box in front of each scholarship you want to apply for:

Applicants for all the above actuarial science scholarships must:

  • be enrolled full-time 
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S., and can work permanently in the U.S.
  • The above scholarships either require a student to be enrolled in the BS or MS in Actuarial Science degree; or if open to students in all undergraduate majors within our school, preference is given to those pursuing a BS or MS in Actuarial Science
  • Most of the above scholarships require at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA
  • Most of the above scholarships prefer students who have passed at least one professional actuarial exam
  • Most of the above scholarships prefer students who are active members of an actuarial science student organization, such as Gamma Iota Sigma Kappa Chapter at ASU
